Gas Company Billing Problems

Received with my Gas Bill today. Any typos that appear are mine, and not in the text of this insert: January 18, 2000 Dear SCANA Energy Customer, The enclosed bill was delayed in mailing due to billing problems that we incurred during the past few weeks. Theses problems have now been resolved. By the time you receive this bill, the "paymnt due date" may be past. To allow for this, no late payment charges will be billed on next month's bill. No adverse inpact on your credit standing with SCANA energy will result from your payment being received after the due date. All we ask is that you process your payment as you would normally. We apologize for any inconvenience, and have worked diligently to avoid a recurrence of this problem. We take great pride at SCANA Energy in our ability to serve our customers well and to do what is fair in all interactions with our customers. Thank you for selecting SCANA Energy as your natural gas provider and we look forward to a lon-lasting relationship with you. Interesting. I was wondering wherre my gas bill was. No are there companies out there with problems that they don't know about? Or others with problems that aren't getting fixed, so that accounts receivable or cash flow will start to display problems? Another interesting note. The period for the electric bill I just received was for a 34 day period. And it was $20 more (33%) than the usual electric bill for this time of year. I'm going to give them a call to make sure everything is alright with there system.

Hi Duke,

My electric bills vary from 29 -35 days. Maybe it's higher because you used more energy. I find that in the winter when my heat is on. :)

I would imagine the billing problems were probably Y2K related, but it looks like they are fixed.
