Well, actually i sort of faced my deepest credit-card-number-cracker fears and decided to donate via Paypal a sum that i keep private , as giving is not about showing that you've given something, but helping someone who needs it, my mom always says...the proverb may have lost in quality being translated though :O). Anyway if some fu@#$g cracker use my money i promise to sue you :O).....given that i want to respect the customs of your country (note that this joke may have lost even more than the previous, crossing the seas .............). I hope you'll be able to find a solution....financial, technical or mystical.....

Menno is almost correct when he said I didnt quite understand, what he should have done to be 100% correct is left out the word "quite".

Also, I note a certain influence of a young lady creeping into Menno's last post with the word sweet. I must admitt I am flattered that I can now be talked about utilising the same words as for captain Chivu - maybe some of the other things surrounding Chivu will also rub-off on me ;-)

I think we have to make one thing clear, to avoid misunderstandings...

The Soccerpages.com discussion forum is not an alternative for the Ajax USA website, because Jim can no longer afford it! The Soccerpages.com forums are the alternative for this forum I'm posting to right now: Lusenet, on Greenspun.com!

We are only going to use a new discussion forum. The fact that we have launched our 'Friends Of Ajax USA' fund on the same day, is a coincidence.

Bill asked me: "but where will your match and news reports appear now?" Very sweet, but I think he didn't quite understand what's going on. Ajax USA will stay as-is (if you can help us a little bit). We will only use a new (better!) discussion forum.

Some extremely wonderful folks have asked me whether they can use PayPal from non-U.S. countries to make contributions to the new "Friends of Ajax USA" fund. The answer, I'm delighted to say, is: YES!

According to the PayPal web site, users in a large number of foreign countries can set up a free account allowing them to send money with their PayPal accounts. PayPal accepts withdrawals to local bank accounts in several forein countries (including, for example, UK and Netherlands).

Having published a match report of every Ajax game and a report on every bit of relevant Ajax news, we acknowledge that it has become increasingly difficult to find older match and news reports on Ajax USA.

That's why Jim and I (we're getting pissed at my place as you read!) decided to create an 'Archive' section, which we decided to christen Ajax USA Year By Year. There is a link to it on the Ajax USA homepage.

This section makes it a lot easier to find old match and news reports, as well as our annual 'Summing Up The Season' article, the Ajax-1 player squads of each season and the end-of-season Eredivisie tables.

You can now search for information on Ajax USA in different ways. For results against one particular opponent, you go to our 'Teams' section and click the opponent of your choice. For Ajax' results in a particular season you can now use our 'Year By Year' section.

Also: don't forget to use the search engine on the homepage if you look for anything specific. Ajax USA has been around since January (1995) and there's a lot of stuff for you to explore. Much more than the average Ajax USA member is aware of. We are trying to enable you to reach all our stuff in a few clicks.

i'd just like to say that i thank you for all those good news videos and stuff about my favourite club..... I'm french 21 i've been an ajacied since i've been 8 years old and the lack of info in french or english was for me like a pain in the ass... Now the problem is solved. Something has gone wrong folks...

As you all know (especially the folks receiving email alerts) someone calling himself 'Jesus is the way!' added 20 posts to our discussion forum, containing extremist religious stuff. I notified Jim of this straight away, but due to apparent miscommunication most of the posts were not removed yet. I don't have access to our B-Board, so we'll have to wait until Jim wakes up before this can be taken care of.

My apologies to anyone confronted with these extremely evil posts. This B-Board is supposed to be dedicated to the most beautiful football club in the world: AFC Ajax. Of course we do not tolerate stuff like on our B-Boards. They should have been removed instantly. They weren't, but they will be removed later today.

We have learned something from Mr 'Jesus is the way' after all: the next Osama bin Laden might as fucking well be a Christian, and he might be your neighbor. People are people, evil is evil.

Fight the real enemy.

If we did have a links page, we definitely would link to your Zlatan super-site! However, we do not. Maintaining a useful links page is itself a full-time job, and we choose to spend our very limited resources developing original content. Change is the only constant on the Internet, so links pages are difficult to keep current and useful. I recommend using search engines and compiling your own list of useful links. However, Ajax.nl and AjaxMania both maintain links pages for your reference.

We do maintain an Ajax Web Links discussion page, where people are welcome to post links.

Hi Ajax USA,

Thank you for your Match Reports, I realy appreciate it. I'm a Dutch Ajaxfan, but I'm staying for one semester as an exchange-student at Central Michigan University, so the only way to follow my so beloved Ajax is by internet and e-mail. I just saw on the internet that Ajax won of Groningen and PSV has lost. Ajax is going to be the new champion and PSV plays next season in the second division, what more do you want!

I also want to pay my respect to all Americans. I experienced the terrible events of the past few weeks from a close distance and I feel very sad about all this. From family and friends back home I've heard that everybody feels the same and I've seen on the Ajax USA-site that the fans back home are feeling with you. Their tribute makes me even more proud of the fact that I'm an Ajaxied.

I just made a direct link to the "New Answers Page". It is in my history of internetaddresses so I can easily go there. It works quite the same as a button on the HomePage.

I ended the email alert, because this works better for me. I just check it once in a while. Try it!

I would love to be able to link to "the latest posts" in the discussion boards. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a way to offer this link. The Lusenet discussions don't work this way.

Right now, your best option is to subscribe to an alert which will send you an email each time someone posts to the boards. I personally don't want to take the time to 'surf' the boards for new messages, so this alert service is extremely valuable to me.

Ok, I've checked it out and $899 is an awfull lot of money for a non- commercial fansite. Perhaps we should all have a whip-round!

Its precisely because I find this board difficult to read, and to get round that I suggested the change. But it's no big deal, there are more important things in life to get upset about.

Incidentaly, as you should know, those "Oh so important smilies" can be de-activated, and you can also supress the level of graphics.

Please don't change to a "system" like UBBS. I greatly prefer this pared-down style because it avoids tables, avoids needless graphics, it doesn't abuse the fontography down to something barely readable, and it loads quickly. I also like the spacing, it's not nearly as cramped as UBBS, making it a lot easier to read.

And one note to mark@purple-cow.com: you may say this BBS is clunky, but there's nothing "improper" about it. I gather that you would prefer to cram everything together tighter so that you would have more space for useless graphics and those oh-so-effective smiley-gifs? I'll match your vote for that with a vote against it.

It would be nice if you guys could get some proper bulletin board softwear. I find the current set-up a little clunky, and difficult to navigate.

Something like Infopop's UBB 6.03, would do the trick.

Is it too expensive? perhaps we could help.

Congratulations on your great ajax site. I have been following it for a few years and rely on it since their official site is not that good to say the least and no English version update. By the way I think it is a shame in this computer age that a club like Ajax doesn't have a decent site. I am also a big fan of Leeds Utd and their site is excellent. Keep up the good work. Hi Jim (and Menno & Bastiaan & everyone else working behind the scene), I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on a superb job on your web site. I have been browsing at Ajax-usa.com for many years now,actually since its inception ( I remember your first logo, "for the love of Ajax ?!"). I never took the time to say this but it is now long overdue. I understand just how much time and effort and energy is required to upkeep such a project. Yours is not an average Joe, everyday web site. Because of your intricate links to key personnels in A'dam, the Simon Kuper book translations, organizing the Gotham Cup gettogether, among other things, your web site truly stands heads and shoulders above the rest, not just amongst Ajax related sites but among all football fan sites. There is no question that everyone involved in your team is an Ajax fan for life, and beyond. If only Michael van Praag can see how much influence his organization has had on everyone involved... So from my humble perspective, kudos for a great job !... and to let you know all your efforts are not being done unnoticed. Rest assured, you can count me in on the trip to A'dam.
