Hi All:

I 've heard somewhere that Chrome toning exists and extremely well works with RC paper, but I couldn't find much information about this technique. Any pointers ?

My understanding is that it is used primarily as a bleach and re- develop intensifier for negatives. I have not heard of a chromium based toner.

Same here. I've also checked in some old books - no mention of toning with chromium. If you get any results, do let us know.

Try using Chromium Intensifer for Negatives (sold by the Formulary, on the web at: http://www.photoformulary.com). Although the product is intended for negatives, it also does wonderful things to prints. RC does not, in general, accept toners as well as fiber, but this stuff does work well with RC.

Standish, can you tell us briefly what happens to the print? I assume it goes darker, but what about the colours? Thanks.
