Refinery Outputs Slips below 85% Capacity : API REPORTgreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
API REPORT: OilFinally, refinery operations declined to 84.4 percent, a bit surprising since crack spreads have impoved fro prompt barrels. Looking forward, however, refinnig margins continue to be tight. that could portend SUPPLEY DISRUPTIONS COME SPRING. (my emphasis)
DOWNSTREAMER responded:
While none of the API weekly stock changes are any big surprise .... etc. I believe Downstreamer's messages on this board are copyrighted, however -- so you better have a looksee for yourself. Gist is that refining slipped another 3.3 percent below capacity despite "crack spread" and cash for immediate delivery -- which ordinarily would have served as ample in$entive to reinfers to kick up the output.......

Cool thing about the oil industry is that you get to use the phrase "crack spread" in polite conversation.

---ROFLMAO #6! I'm "crakin" up!

zog, pay no attention to #6 - he's suffering from heat stroke. ;-)The 84.4% number turned up in an OPIS Alert yesterday. I'm wondering what the numbers would normally be. It struck me at the time that 84% must be pretty encouraging given routine maintenance, or whatever, but maybe not?? What percentage do we normally need to maintain to keep up with demand?

THANKS for the link.Number Six, I understand that in Ireland "crack" MEANS polite conversation.
