My husband restores cars. In addition to Hemmings, try ebay, auto swap meets and junk yards.

This might be your lucky day ! Last monday--while eating breakfast at a local steak n egg--I saw an abandened one. It look really straight and I was going to enquire about it--because that is all my grandfather would ever drive. E-mail me @ joel681@webtv.net and I will update you on ---"if the city will let me haul it off. There are a lot of old junkyards in Virginia and NC that still keep the studabakers. Good Luck !

David:

Several years ago I restored a '49 Champion Coupe. I found many parts in South Bend, Indiana. One of the old Studebaker Manufacturing buildings has been turned into a warehouse of never issued surplus parts. Try contacting the Studebaker Parts Division of Newman & Altman at 219-287-3381 --- 405 West Sample St., South Bend, IN (sorry, I don't have the zip -- there are several for South Bend).

Another recourse would be to contact (and visit if you can) the Studebaker National Museum at 219-235-9479 --- 525 South Main St., South Bend, IN Many of the tour guides are older folks who retired from Studebaker and they will gladly help you locate people who have parts and are members of the Studebaker Club.

If you happen to know anyone who can supply a clean rear bumper for a 1968 Mercury (full size model)I would appreciate some help. Its the last item I need to complete a restoration.

Good luck with your search, Rick
