Had to sleep in teenage daughters room

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

My teenage daughter wants to be an ER doctor and watches the show faithfully. She was so disturbed by the attack on Carter and Lucy that I had to sleep in her room (my husband said she's too old to sleep with us in our bed) I've heard February is ratings month so we shouldn't be so surprised it was so drastic. We thought maybe George Clooney was going to end up as a patient in the ER. I knew that "Dr. Keri Weaver" must have directed since she wasn't in the episode. Just as long as nothing happens to LUKA.

I almost slept with my lights on! Ha ha! It was disturbing!

I'm an RN in a busy inner-city hospital, so this show doesn't usually throw anything my way that I can't handle. However, last night's episode still has me disturbed, even in the middle of the day. I just couldn't (can't) get the look on Lucy's face out of my mind. I can't wait until next week episode.

My mind was racing all night. When I did finally fet about three hours of sleep in, I woke up remembering the disturbing dream I had about what happened.

I agree on the no sleep. I go to work very early in the morning and I couldn't stop watching the show. I was so shock that I couldn't the last scene out of my head, I am looking forward to the next show.

My mom said I was being a wimp after that episode but Hey now I know im not the only teenager scared, I had a nightmare that my bestfriend who im fighting with stabbed me just like in the show! But I have to admit it was the best episode I have seen and the even freaker part about it was that my mom-mom dies almost excally a year ago and her last name was Connelly, under the same circumstances too! That part relly moved me, but it mad me feel better because it looked like the character wasnt in pain as she went in her sleep

Yeah, it was really disturbing, good, but disturbing. I was (am) sick and I needed to get to bed early, but after that show I was up until 11:30, it comes on at 9 here. I also woke up in the middle of the night for a couple hours and all I could think about was ER, what would happen, going over what did happen, and Lucy's expression stayed with me the entire night.

Hey if this weeks show is too scary...can I sleep in your daughters bed?

Three words for any parent who feels it is appropriate to share a bedroom with their teenager who is 'traumatized' after seeing a scary television show: Get therapy now.
