Encyclopedia's worth

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread

I have a complete set of encyclopedia's (Edition 1 ~ 36) in excellent condition.

The set is:

The New Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia Copyright 1949, 1950, 1951, And 1952 Funk & Wagnalls Company

I would like to know if these books would be of any interest or value to anyone.

Thank You Kathy Ball

Response to Encyclopedia's Worth

Hi Kathy, in these days of instant "up to the minute" information, old encyclpedias of this vintage don't bring much on the open market. If you are interested in value, visit http://www.bibliofind.com/ , I'm sure you will find your answer there.

Kathy - I've run a library booksale for the past several years and whenever we get an encyclopedia set that's older they 10 years we throw it into the recycling bin. We can't even give them away (we tried one year). If it was 19th century, it would have a value - but it's too "new".
