You know we have a really obnoxious and outspoken sheriff here that gets involved in all kinds of things whether he's supposed to or not. Sheriff Joe. Would be worth a try to see if the Maricopa County Sheriff's Dept would get their noses into this mess, couldn't hurt anything.

Thanks.

See Sysman's threads. His roommate's a cop. He's made him aware.

I only came in on round two about 5:10 pm PST. The many Sysops before me had already deleted several hundred threads (366) posted by the two main spammers, Doomers@sucks and LadyLogic.

This has been going on for about 7 to 8 hours now.

What you see is perhaps 5-10% of what it was. We have to preserve the threads so AOL and Mindspring can "see" the damage. Their request.

Diane

These attacks have been underway since around 7:00 p.m. eastern time. It is now 2:00 a.m., ET. The two sysops who handled the first onslaught deleted about 400 threads between them. As of this moment, I have deleted approximately eight hundred threads, give or take a couple hundred. I'm sure the other sysops are in the same ball park.

We really appreciate all the support. Thanks to everyone.

Hang in there Diane. I appreciate your dedication and hard work. It is extremely *unwise* for an individual to vandalize a web site. You are not alone. The Internet is a BIG place...people always LQQKing. =)

Sorry the site is under attack. Guess some people don't like freedom of speech.

Wow. Her again. Keep up the good work, sysops. Surely it is time for LL to get hers.

Some people's kids.

Yea, I know, it's an insult to kids. <:)=

Thanks Diane,

Whew, glad I missed all the garbage that's been going on. When is Laura going to find a new hobby? Hope it's soon.

Thanks to Diane and others for their concerted efforts in defending this wonderful forum. It`s truly unfortunate what took place. I`ve been off line for >24 hrs. and just discovered this ridiculous situation. I`m truly amazed to see such infantile behavior. Can you imagagine how empty their lives must be to engage in these pointless activities for hours on end. Devoid of purpose and no sense of productive time, they type for hours and hours, desparately hoping to get any negative response. The excitement derived is perhaps similar to that of an adolescent boy visiting a porn site. My God, does anyone understand this childish behavior? I just cannot imagine my life getting to such a desparate attention desired state. God help these people.

Diane,

Thank you for your tireless efforts to make the TB2000 board an informative and civil place.

I liked one suggestion someone made...modifying the software so that a definite amount of time is required before the software will accept another post from the same ISP. I don't know how feasible that is, but it would sure slow down the likes of Y2K Pro, LL, and Doomers@. These spammers are ruining the forum. LL seems to have a personal grudge against you. I think she may be dangerous.

Again, a big THANK YOU!
