The moment Lucy said thank you my heart broke.

I think Romano is finally getting soft on us. I cried at the emotion he showed for Lucy. I was also teary eyed at the way Peter showed his loyalty for Carter. It was a great episode!

I thought Lucy's "thank you" was the most contrived moment in the episode. Clearly, the writers wanted to create a tear-jerking moment... but having her whisper "thank you" just seemed... unrealisitic. I thought that if the writers were going for realisim, she would have said something like "please stay" or "please help" and if they were going for poingnancy, she should have parroted Carter, and simply asked "Carter?"

The whole gratitude thing seems weird since Dr. Corday was, at core, just doing her job. This is something Lucy is well aware of... she certainly didn't pursue medicine because she was ego driven, and was looking for praise or affirmation from her patients... that's why I thought the 'thank you' was both superfluous and shmaltzy.

I too thought it would have been better for Lucy to ask about Carter rather than to say thank you. Also, she was a little too alert that soon after surgery.

I thought the simple "Thank You" was beautiful. A way for Lucy to say goodbye to Dr. Corday and for Kellie to say goodbye to the show and her fans. What broke my heart was her panicked looked when she knew she was suffering a pulmonary emobolism and with her medical knowledge knew she was losing her battle. Splendid work by an equally splendid actress.

I think she said thank you because she knew how bad off she was and how much work was done to save her. Plus, she was a patient and that is a different experience for her.

I wondered why she didn't ask about Carter, too. She might not have had the time to do it, I suppose. But as someone said before, she might not even have known Carter had been hurt. Her eyes were opeb briefly at the end of last week, but she might have been in so much shock, she didn't really see him.

There's no way she could have been concerned with Carter after what she'd been through. She probably thought that Carter was the one who fouond her. By the way how long do you thing Paul stood there looking at Lucy dying before Carter arrived?

I don't know how long he was there - but I think he was waiting for Carter. When he talked last night about them trying to "take his internal organs" (the LP the week before) and that he "had to stop them" it made more sense to me that he was still in the room after he stabbed Lucy.

O.k. I just got creeped out at the thought of Paul standing in the corner of the room while Lucy suffered there on the floor... how horrible ( I know it is just a show)...

Many times when people suffer that much trauma, they have very little memory as to what actually happened. I think there is a good chance that Lucy didn't realize that Carter had been stabbed too. I also thought they were very alert after surgery, but then they had to be to carry the show, right?

It made me cry when Lucy said,"Thank you'...I was probably crying long before that anyway. :( From experience, when I had my daughter I had to have an emergency c-section for which I was competely zonked out for, and when I woke up I was really in quite of a haze, couldn't focus on anything...and then the morphine they gave me kicked in. Anyways, to get to my point...I'm sure Lucy was tanked up with morphine after what she went through and I'm kind of amazed that she was as coherent as ahe was.(I remember talking about toast being buttered to my new born baby...lol :) Well, just wanted to share that useless piece of information with ya all :) Bye now

sorry about printing that twice :( don't know what happened or why it did that! :(

I think Lucy's "thank you" was one of my favorite parts. She looked so sweet and innocent and child like there. It just grabbed me!

Oh my. Kellie Martin is such a fantastic actress....Hey, is anybody else kinda ticked that the writers gave her one line and it was just "Thank you"? That really stank. :P And I totally loved Romano's reaction. He's human!!
