Flatline effect

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Did anyone else notice the constant underlying muted sound of the heart monitor flatlining from the point where Lucy died to the very end of the show?. Under all the music and dialogue after her death there was this little "eeeeeee......" that didnt stop till the very end.

I thought it was very chilling, a constant reminder of the finality of Lucy's death, yet it was subtle enough to miss if you werent paying attention.

Yes, I did notice that, after i heard it so much i started to hear it all around my house. It was very distinct, and i thought that it was a great effect to the show and the depression everyone would be going through.

Yes, I noticed the sound too. I told my daughter that I hated that sound. It makes death seem so real. She reminded me that it was just a TV show, mom! Well, i guess it is more than that to me. these people seem like friends or family to me. I was also diappointed in Carole's response but thought it was the writers way of taking the focus off of her since she is leaving the show
