Something VERY strange is going on with stock exchanges and trading capabilities.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

1) NASDAQ, Amsterdam and Toronto stock exchanges all experienced tech problems on Friday

2) A fire engulfed an underground facility late Friday in a section where the Korea Stock Exchange and rows of securities and investment trust firms are located ... knocking out phone lines.

3) DOS problems with Charles Schwab, Datek and E-Trade last week and similar problem AGAIN Friday with Schwab and E-Trade.

4) There was that bombing in Wall Street a couple of weeks ago.

It's really, really strange for these things to be happening in such a compressed timeframe. Seems more than just a coincidence.

All of the above are distractions, so we, the people won't notice the price of oil, gold and stock averages. I commend the authorities for their cleverness. The ecomony sizzles, there is no inflation and we have another 10 or 12 years of uninterrupted prosperity.

It is time to relax and to trust.

All is well.

Thanks for the post! It is not a coincidence. The problems are just becoming more visible and harder to cover up. For every y2k or potentially y2k related story that makes it to the level of national media attention there are hundreds more that go unreported. The many stories reported here represent just the tip of the iceberg.

Nice to hear from you Cheryl.

I nominate 2000 as the "year of the coincidence."

I nominate this the "Oh-Oh!" Decade in honor of the double digits in the year 2000 and for the precarious times that lie ahead.
