Union Furniture Company information needed

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread

what can you tell me about the union furniture company of Jamestown NY? I know that they made furniture in the 1940's. I don't know when they went out of business, or how long they were in business. Also would like to know the quality of their products. Is there any value to a dining room suite made by this company?

Hi Kathy, there is not much reference material available on furniture manufacturers of the 1940's. Any information to be found would involve searching libraries in Jamestown for newspaper accounts of the firm or the local tax records. Values for good quality 1940's dining room sets , depending on condition and number of pieces $ 1400-$2200.
