A WAV as read by Kellie Martin.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Though this WAV file is actually from Kellie's work in the acclaimed series "Life Goes On",(and not ER), it seemed fitting to post it here as a farewell to Lucy. Kellie was reading this to someone dying of AIDS in a hospital bed in the "LGO" show. (The AIDS episodes actually earned Kellie an Emmy nomination.)

I hope this is not inappropriate for an ER chat room, but I personally was saddened to see Lucy die, and this "quote" kinda popped into my head as Kerry pulled the sheet over Lucy's face.

Farwell Kellie, we'll miss ya.

I know what you're talking about! I can tell from the address name that it's that story she's reading about friends needing to part and go on to a better life and a better world they have never known, or something like that. She reads it to Jesse, her boyfriend with AIDS right? I always thought that was a very bittersweet part of that show...as depressing as the show was, I loved to watch it. Isn't it strange that both her and Chad Lowe (who played Jesse) were both students of Carter's? Chad Lowe was the geeky student (Henry?) he had in the same season Anna DelAmico was in. Too bad they made him geeky, I loved Chad Lowe too.

Sorry, I know this is getting off the subject, and some people may not even know what we're talking about but thanks for the link, I've thought about that story too, and I've been wanting to find the words to it for awhile!

I've had a couple requests from people wanting the text version of the quote read by Kellie. Here it is...

Then go into "Theme Music", and then a few links down to the "Fox Old Friend" link. It's an excellent Kellie Martin site to check out as well.

And yes, Kellie's "Life Goes On" past seems to still be following her around. There was even a pateint in ER that she bonded with named "Jesse". But the "LGO" work she did was so awesome, it to no avail that the slight references are still hanging around. And rightly so. The Emmy nomination she had for "LGO" was well deserved and the AIDS shows touched a lot of people.

I know this has nothing to do with ER, but did jessie die in Life Goes On? I don't remember.

Well, the same page were the WAV is, there is also a WAV of the last scene of the final show. It was really very touching if you followed the series as I did, but it didn't fully address a firm conclussion about Jesse.

However, some answers were answered at the site below. If you read the last episode description in the 4th season, it "may" help answer your question. ;)
