SPOILER for 2/24

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Don't quote me on this, but I read on another site that a Canadian preview offered the following information about next week. Again, I can't prove it is true, but it would be interesting if it was. I don't like the idea of this Thursday's episode to be all about Luka and the girl.

(Don't read if you don't want to know.)

So ... according to a preview in Canada, Thursday is anything BUT just about Luka. Apparently he sees a kid get hit by a car (as we caw in previews) and he takes her into the hospital before the paramedics get there and then questions if he should have done that.

Supposedly, we see scenes of the aftermath of the Lucy/Carter incident, including:

1) Lucy's mom (yes- she's here, and she and Carter have a chat, with Carter saying "She was a much better doctor than I ever gave her credit for...") 2)Carter crying, while sitting in his hospital room.

3)Carter *attempting* to walk with a walker (though he fails miserably)

4) Carol talking to a young girl saying "You may have cervical cancer," and the girl saying to Carol "you can't tell my parents." (NOTE: Pretty sure this one is true, too. Read it in the paper myself. So, maybe we'll see some of the heart that has been missing in Carol lately?)

5)Scenes with Benton with Carter

6)Elizabeth dealing with the aftermath of loosing Lucy. Again, I can't be sure, but I wanted to share with you all in case it IS true.

Ohhh, that sounds like the way I would like it to be, I hope this is true...where did you find this (from which forum) if you don't mind me asking.

I'm sure the admin on this site don't want me promoting another site so first let me say this site is my FAVORTIE :-) That said, you can see the spoiler listed on http://members.boardhost.com/ermessageboard/ Also, for the record, I hope it is true, too!

This site is also my FAVORITE ... (some days my fingers do the talking and they don't make much sense. :-)

I'm in Canada, and I saw this preview last night, so yes, it is true!

-- Lisa (Shaniakicks@hotmail.com), February 22, 2000.

Hey, I'm in British Columbia, and I have yet to see anything on this weeks ep but the NBC clip. What station are you fellow Canadiansn watching to see this clip just out of curiosity? Is it CTV? If it is, I don't think I get that station, hmmmm. Anyone else from BC? Can't wait til Thursday! Phantom

I'm from toronto, and I've seen the preview twice now, so yes it's true.

The clips from the preview make it seem like the Carter/loss of lucy story is the main one.

You also see Carol, and Dr. Corday upset over Lucy. Also when Carter says to Lucy's mom," She was a better doctor than I ever gave her credit for.." Lucy's mom answers, "I know." Then there are many shots of Carter loking miserable and guilty....

That's all I remember...it looks like a good one though!

Interesting, isn't it, that Canada seems to have a very different preview than the states? I wonder why that is. I suppose it might be up to the network affiliate in each area, but wouldn't it make more sense to keep us fans latched on to the Lucy/Carter story that has us OBVIOUSLY enthralled?

I watched CTV, and it was on twice last night during Third Watch, which, BTW, kicks a**!

-- Lisa (Shaniakicks@hotmail.com), February 22, 2000.

Darn, figures it's CTV, sigh. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait til Thursday, which is still 2 days away, geez. Toronto huh? I went to college in Oshawa from 97 to 98, I love Toronto. Moved from Ontario to BC about 7 months ago, I kinda miss home, but I'm sure no one cares! LOL! Ok, 2 more days to go, we can do it. I just hope there's lots of Carter :)

They have information about this week's episode at the NBC website, http://www.nbc.com/primetime.html

Yea!!! Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! I knew that HAD to be the storyline, I would have ripped the TV out of the wall if it wasn't, but thanks so much for the conformation. Oh, gosh, sounds like just another heart wrenching episode! This is the third week in a row that I will have my handy tissue box waiting. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Ditto...

But though we may hesitate to be saddened by "wanting" to watch these episodes, somehow it is "needed" as well. Remember how we KNEW the last episode of MASH would be so sad? But it was nonetheless the all time rated TV show in history. We really NEED to feel that release, just as we felt the bond and love of the characters. I for one NEED to see the other ER members react as I did. We bonded with them in life, and the bond, even in death is nessesary and needed.

Well I am definetly happy to hear that there is a lot of storyline still about Lucy and Carter, but Lucy's mom saying "I know" to Carter's "She was a much better doctor than I gave her credit for" worries me. I hope this doesn't reveal that Lucy totally hated having Carter as a teacher. Obviously they had their differences but that was somewhat brought about by their tension of attraction. I don't want to find out that she's been complaining about him to her mother all this time...I hope somehow someone points something good out about their relationship. HOpefully Lucy's mother is just looking for someone to blame and they end on somewhat peaceful terms.

either way, once again I can't wait to watch!

I also saw the preview on CTV (I'm in Halifax). It btought me to tears again. I too hope that Carter doesn't get all negitive stuff from Lucy's mom - it's bad enough that she's dead, so he can't say he's sorry - and he didn't get to say good-bye. :( I'm so glad that the writers are going to deal with this - I hope that it's for more than one episode. I really identified with Lucy, and I'll miss her. I *really* wanted her and Carter to get involved, and was upset when they didn't. I do think it would have worked out if Carter let it. I diffently don't think that they disliked eachother. They are both just strong willed. Carter cared about Lucy - that was obvious (besides their kissing, he was upset when she went on a date with another doctor). And she liked him. It's just so said that the last things they said to eachother was "Deal with it Lucy," and "Never mind Carter" (or something to that effect). I hope that they don't show Carter just feeling guilt, I *need* (as someone else posted)to know that he's sad because he liked her and will miss her as well.

Okay, before I start I just want to say that this is just my two cents so if you disagree-I'm sorry. That said I'll start-

As soon as I heard that Lucy was going to get killed and Carter was going to get hurt I hoped that Carter remembered that he DID NOT LIKE HER! I just knew that as soon as Lucy was dead Carter would think that he really loved her, yadda, yadda, yadda whatever.

I just want to remind everyone (and the writers if you're reading this-yes I know that they probably aren't, but just in case!) that Carter and Lucy fought all the time and might have been good friends if they had been given a chance, but they were not in love, could not be lovers, ecteria. I know alot of people wished they had gotten together, but I (who only liked Lucy in the last minute of "Be Still My Heart" and "All In The Family") think they were terrible together. There I'm done, you can now attach this post to a bulls- eye and throw darts at it (obvously just kidding-I hope!).

Thanks for reading,

*~Amelia~*

P.S. Sorry this is so long!

I hope he doesn't pine for her, too ... they bickered like siblings, if you ask me. But, I think it is logical for him to feel confused, upset, angry, etc that HIS student was murdered.

-- Lily (Lucyszkj@ucrwcu.rwc), February 24, 2000.

Sorry, but I thought that Carter and Lucy would have been great together. Anyone who thinks that just because they fought all the time means they didn't like each other is a bit naive, imo. Now, it would be unrealistic for Carter to suddenly think that he was "in love" with Lucy. But I certainly think it would be entirely realistic for him to miss her personally. I certainly hope that he feels more than just professional guilt about the loss of a colleague.

-- L. (bearcatiscool@yahoo.com), February 24, 2000.

Never said that because they bickered they couldn't be romantically involved. The point was, they tried the romantic route and it didn't work. They ended up being coworkers and had been bickering lately. So, if Carter starts in on how he loved her it would seem to come out of nowhere. If he goes on about how he really DID respect her and think she was good and even considered her a friend, well then that makes more sense ... IMO.

-- Lily (lucyszkj@ucrwcu.rwc), February 24, 2000.

I always thought their bickering was due partly to their unresolved feelings for eachother. Like kids teasing and picking on someone they actually like. Oh well guess we'll never know what their babies would have looked like!
