NTSB Accident Reports by the month showing incidents and fatalities/non-fatals....make of it what you will, just thought there might be some comparisons to be made looking at precious years compared to this one.

Fascinating. Highly informative I suppose. So why hasn't even one of the recent spate of MD-80 emergency landings made it on to the list?

And if they aren't making the list how useful is the effort at comparison?

Laurane-

I went to the NTSB site and reviewed the last 5 year's January listings:

1-1996 122 incidents; 61 fatalities 1-1997 117 incidents; 77 fatalities 1-1998 114 incidents; 40 fatalities 1-1999 118 incidents; 39 fatalities 1-2000 100 incidents; 146 fatalities

Not taking into consideration any unreported incidents involving MD-80 series aircraft last month, the numbers this year seem to be off when compared to previous years. Y2K or not, I thought this was interesting!
