Hi. I have been a HUGE fan on ER since it started, but I have not been able to watch it basically at all this season because of homework (I'm in college), and I have a question: Deb left in the middle of the first season right? So is she back, or is she playing a different character, becasue I've seen comments about her, but they use a different name. I was just curious, because of last week's episode, when Carter regained consiousness, he called her Deb. I thought that was right, but I might be wrong. Do you understand what I'm asking? :) :) :)

Yes; it's the same character. She prefers to be called "Jing-Mei" now, (her real name, I assume), but old habits die hard, and the occasionaly "Deb" slips out from others who knew her when.

I find it interesting that everyone else uses "Carter" while "Jing- Mei" continues to call him "John" and he calls her "Deb" not Jing- Mei. Could this be a carry over from her previous time at County? Just an interesting thread to me!

Is it just the short hair, or does the character seem more interesting this time around? I would like to see her and Dave Malucci get together.

I think Chen and Carter should get together. They seem like they are already interested in each other, that could just be an "old friends" thing too. I think they would be good together though.

Yes, Deb and Jing-Mei are one in the same. She explained in her first return episode that she prefers Jing-Mei (it's probably her native- born name), but Carter, more than anyone else, continues to call her "Deb." It almost seems like he's purposely doing it to get a reaction from her. They are fun together- wise to each other's ways. I ALMOST want to see them as a couple.

I seem to remember kind of wishing Carter and Deb were a couple when she was on the show before. She comes from a wealthy family too, so they may understand each other on some levels.

when deb quit the er the first time around, carter went to her house to talk out of it . if i remember correctly he was quite impressed with her parents home and theirapparent wealth - was this before the audience knew about carter's family money?

God - Carter deserves someone MUCH better than Jing-Mei/Deb. Please - she is so full of herself!! I have a hard time paying attention to her scenes. She deserves Dr. Dave. Someone she can have the upper hand with - she'd be the one calling the shots and that's where she is happiest.

Carter needs to be alone for a while. I imagine him falling for a patient. I don't see him hooking up with a co-worker.
