Krista,

From the time Edgar Allan Poe was found on the streets of Baltimore on October 3, 1849 and taken, that same afternoon, by his friend, Dr. J. E. Snodgrass, and his uncle, Henry Herring, to Washington College Hospital, Poe was mostly incoherent. During his brief stay in the hospital, he was said to alternate in and out of lucidity. According to his attending physician, Dr. Moran, Edgar never regained consciousness sufficiently to tell the good doctor how he came to his condition (Authur H. Quinn). Finally, at 5 a.m. on Sunday October 7, 1849 he succumbed to his illness.

Dr. Moran states in a letter dated November 15, 1849 to Maria Clemm, Poes aunt with whom he had lived, that Poes final words were, God, help my poor soul.

Who's Edgar allan Poe?! He's one of the greatest poets of all time! Oh, how I love his work! The Raven, Annabelle Lee, it was all wonderful! Brilliant!

To answer thy question, lady Kristina, no one is quite sure what his last words were but the last time he was seen before found unconcious in Baltimore, was at a birthday party, paying respects to his dear friend. Unfortunately... He drank too much. And while walking home, drunk of course, he fell and knocked his head. Any other questions? I'll be happy to answer! ^.^
