Casio QV8000SX Comparometer macro picture

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Although the specs in the review state that the Casio QV8000SX can focus down to 0.4"/1cm in macro mode, the macro picture in the comparometer looks like it was shot from 8" or more away! Are there any better photo examples of what should be an amazing macro capability, or is the comparometer image the best this camera can do? If this macro example was shot with manual focus (which the review tells us allows the closest focusing distance as 3.9 inches/10cm) rather than the *much* closer autofocus, then do you have images which were shot in autofocus & macro? Thanks in advance, Gary

Whoops! *Thanks* for that catch! We do indeed have a closer shot. We'd initially misunderstood the 8000's macro mode, so shot from too far back. Later, I think we updated the review, but not the Comparometer! We'll get a fix made right away!

Thanks again!
