Can you suggest any books or publications on the history of the "Crescent Limited"?

A good history of The Crescent appears in Arthur Dubin's book, SOME CLASSIC TRAINS, vol.1. You might want to check abebooks at www.abebooks.com to see if a copy is available, and prices. Or, look in the back of TRAINS magazine through the classified advertisements for used book dealers and write a few. There were at least two magazine articles. PASSENGER TRAIN JOURNAL for June 1994 had a piece on The Crescent under Amtrak. The SR's employees magazine, TIES, had an article on the history of The Crescent. I don't have an issue date, but it was around the time the SR repainted the E-units back into the green livery. For back-issue magazines, check with Paul Gibson, 11 Downingwood Drive, Franklin, Mass., 02038-2768.
