Looking for beans

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Has anyone ever heard of or know of a source for the following beans-a red and white bean called Paris or Swiss, and a small bean known as Linsen. These would both be dried beans, although that hasn't always been the way growers thought of beans. They are from a Mennonite cookbook, so possibly German or Russian beans. Gerbil

There is a seed sales operation called the Vermont Bean Seed Company that should be able to help you find what you are looking for. Rather than me post their address and possiblly get it wrong, I'll post a url that lists it and many other seed companies. http://www.ianr.unl.edu/pubs/horticulture/nf80.htm

My archives show a "Swiss Paris" which is a pole snap bean described as "a semi-runner climbing, beautiful seed, off white with maroon mottling". Could be what you're looking for. Rare. E-mail me directly and I'll give you more info. Good Luck!
