Applied Photovoltaics International Internet Short Course
        28 March through 18 April, 2000
 
The University of New South Wales Centre for Photovoltaic 
Engineering (UNSW CPE) in conjunction with the Australian 
Cooperative Research Centre for Renewable Energy (ACRE) are 
offering an on-line short course in Applied Photovoltaics.
 
This course is designed for people with engineering back-
grounds or 3rd year and above engineering students who are 
interested in working within the renewable energy sector.
 
Applicants for the three-week short course need to supply 
a summary of their background in Photovoltaics or a similar 
technical area and should expect to spend a minimum of 15 
hours per week in study.  
 
The course modules include the following:
 
  Properties of Sunlight
  Behaviour of Solar Cells
  Cell Properties and Design
  Cell Interconnection & Module Fabrication
  Photovoltaic System Components
  Designing Photovoltaic Systems
  Remote Area Power Supply Systems
  Grid Connected Photovoltaic Systems
 
Participants will be mailed the UNSW CPE's Applied Photovoltaics 
interactive CD-ROM and System Sizing Software.  Upon successful 
completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of 
study from The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. 
 
The CD-ROM for this course current runs only on the Microsoft 
Windows Platform.
 
Places are limited to 50 participants.
