inquiry re: painting by Kaitz

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Art Deco Society of Washington : One Thread

I acquired a painting the subject of which is a leaping blonde nude and a black panther in front of her. The date that the original owners bought it was sometime in the thirties/forties. There is a large stylized palm tree with fronds in the foreground and the backgound area is predominately maroon. The media appears to be tempera and pastels. It is signed with a stylize "C" or "G"( looks somewhat like "<") followed by "KAITZ". Image is 32" wide x 26" high. If you have any information regarding this it would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I don't have the answer either. I'm seeking info on this American Art Deco Master and can't fine too much. I would like some a listing of the paintings of Gustave Kaitz. I have a beautiful painting with the 2 beautiful birds & would like to try to find out the title and time period it was done. HELP!
