I have now experianced read about and recieved feedback from Onyx customers experiencing problems with barcoding (run on lines in the middle of printing) I have gotten numerous explanations from onyx as to what the problem is - but nothing definate on how to fix it. Each customer out there seems to have gone to great lengths to troubleshoot the problem - some with fixes - some not. How many people are having a problem? !!!!How many are using a pentium lll chip??? This seems to be the latest reson for the barcoding. Please respond. I will fill everyone in on what I find out. Never experienced this. Have 3 encads, 50,pro-60e and 500 also an HP- 3000 What type of printer are you useing and are you useing serial, Parellel or Print Serv connection???

I have experienced barcoding in the past, and determined the problem was related to data loss. The first time was with a Mimaki we were printing to via parallel port, I believe we solved that one by going to a hi-speed parallel port (we later gave up on the Mimaki altogether). We now print to two HP3000 series printers via JetDirect and ethernet. The only time we had barcoding with this setup was when we upgraded from 10 base T to 100. We tried several different ethernet cards before discovering that a Soundblaster card was conflicting with something (we couldn't resolve), so we yanked the sound card and haven't experienced any more barcoding.
