Okay, this is wierd... I read this in a book titled "Strange Deaths" by Ian Simmons. I know, I know, they're referring to the edible moochi, not the MR2 Moochi monster. But since I don't know what a real moochi looks like, I got a wierd mental image of people choking to death trying to swallow a monster... I'm copying this word for word from this book here. I swear I am not making this up.

"Millions of Japanese people start their new year with a zoni soup containing moochi rice cakes. The moochi are rubbery, tasteless and sometimes fatal; the newspapers publish the annual toll. Most of the 21 victims who missed the rest of 1998 were senior citizens who were prevented from properly chewing the glutinous balls by false teeth."

Isn't that sick? I mean, people are choking to death on a piece of food that MR2 named a monster after... eeeewwww...
