Iranian plane loses way and lands at Karachi airport safely

KARACHI: An Iran Airlines airbus carrying around 180 passengers lost its way on a domestic flight and made an emergency landing at Karachi airport early on Thursday, a Pakistani civil aviation official said.

"The airbus lost its way or might have developed a fault in its navigation system between Karman and Tehran and its pilot requested a landing," said the official. The plane was refuelled but soon after take off for Iran it landed again at the Karachi airport with the pilot reporting some technical problems. A relief flight later flew the passengers home, said Hamid Ali Khan, an official from Iran Airlines in Karachi.
