Albany, KY, United States

3/17/2000-

12:00 PM

The incident occurred at Wilson Gas and Bulk Plant.

By late in the afternoon a building fire had been put out, but four tanks each holding about 2,000 gallons of gasoline continued to burn, according to Ray Bowman, a spokesman for the state Division of Emergency Management.

An evacuation of an area within a 4,000 feet radius of the plant was directed after the fire started.

The plant stores gasoline, oil and toluene.
