The Times of London

You have another apocalyptic entry for your diary, according to the Lord's Witnesses. They have "decoded" the Bible to unveil some terrible truths, including the month in which the UN takes over the world and the final day of reckoning. If you didn't stock up for Y2K, get clicking. link

The Domesday Clock stands at eight minutes to midnight. Its owners reset that time in 1998 with India and Pakistan at each other's throats and the general failure of nuclear non- proliferation. Times may not change, but the Clock may move again at any moment. link

The author of the book on this site specialises in building underground shelters. His tome, No Such Thing as Doomsday, advises on refrigeration, light and the Communist threat. link

You can survive Armageddon or a dull afternoon in the office with a free version of the War of the Worlds, a multiple choice quiz (Would you resort to cannibalism?) and a dictionary of apocalyptic terms. link

You might have thought the threat of a digital doomsday had passed at the turn of the year. Not so. Apparently the real challenge is the erosion of privacy and freedom on the Internet. Check your local laws. link

Uncle Bob,

Sounds interesting, but none of the links worked for me. All I got was the following messages:

Uncle, Thank You for the information. BTW, Which country do you represent?

Hummmm...don't know what happened to the "links". They all roll back to greenspun. Don't know what's up with that.

BTW...good ol' USA in SoCal here...

Truly AWESOME! I especially like the following:

"...Gods purpose in the last 8 years of this system to reduce this entry fee to zero".

Kinda like removing all the toll booths on the New Jersey Turnpike!

Pseudo, religious nuts abounding again. Here comes the fire from the sky, the black helicopters, the UN vehicles, the WTO, the Anti-Christ, Armageddon, boils, runs on groceries. BALONEY. I don't give a shit.

Also, I'm not a meat eater, man or beast. As long as one can find greens, nuts, roots and tubers, there's no problem.

Now losing privacy on the net, or having it regulated to death, I do consider a possiblility and areal threat.

Thanks Uncle Bob, I'm crazy about your links.

Is that *YOU* Gary ????

If you think that changing your name to Bob will fool a lot of people into ignoring your past record and your insane hidden agendas, leading them to radically change their lives and buy into your wild doomsday scenarios based on little more than a tissue of speculation and a lot of exploitation of fear and doubt . . .

. . you're probably right.

Sadly.

Plus ca change.
