MAR 24, 2000 Caltex pump prices up

CALTEX will raise its pump prices at all 32 stations here at 11 pm today. Petrol prices will go up by seven cents per litre and diesel by five cents. The other major petroleum companies, Shell, Mobil, Esso and the Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC), increased their prices earlier this week by the same amounts.

Caltex's new petrol prices begin at $1.338 per litre. The highest "Platinum" grade will cost $1.433. Diesel will cost 61.5 cents a litre, the price set by the other companies.

In August, petrol prices started at $1.113 and diesel at 47 cents per litre. Pump prices have gone up four times since then.
