Violin

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread

I have inherited a violin that has been in my family for years. On the inside on the back is written "copy of Antonious Stradivarius." Made in Germany. I also has the original horse hair string bow. It came with the orginal case and the wax for the bow. Do you know the approx. value or where I could get it appraised? Thank you. Michael Crews

Response to antique violin

Hi Michael, your violin was made in the late 1890's/ early 20th century. Most of these violins were sold through mail order catalogues and are of varying quality, most sell for less than $200.00.
