1. What is the significance of of the cutting of Wole's wrists and ankles?

2. Why was Wole initially allowed to listen to the Women's movement but later denied? What caused the change?

I don't know for sure, but I would assume that the cutting was a form of tatooing and that those tatoos were meant to be symbols of protection or strength or some such thing.

I think in the beginning when the women's movement was just starting Wole was considered just a child and was welcomed to run errands and such, but as the movement grew and became more serious the women began to see Wole as a man and therefore he was not so much a part of this movement.
