Wyle on Leno

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I stayed up to watch Noah Wyle on Leno... interview was a bit disappointing, nothing about ER and only a little on Fail Safe. Noah put on his Fail Safe glasses, it was cute... ("John Carter"... puts on glasses "Peter Buck"... takes off glasses "John Carter"... puts on again "Peter Buck") Also the history of his fast food jobs. Not much else... He is a sweetie. Although I have to say I am only a few years older than him and I would feel like I was robbing the cradle or worse, going out with my little brother, if I was involved with him! He just seems very "young" - John Carter seems older than him in the way he plays him

I stayed up to watch it too. I was kind of suprised to hear that he had worked at fast food places as his previous jobs ... it doesn't fit him. (Celebrity Hot Dog, Muffin Oven etc.) He must really love his job now since he hasn't been fired from it! :-)

I liked his imitations of Richard Dreyfuss from his various movies too. And also to hear him talk about his new home (the Ranch) and all the little goats he has. I think he is still a kid at heart but you gotta love him.

It does seem that Carter is older than Noah. I like the younger side of him, the REAL Noah. Yeah, I definately like the young Noah. :-)

It was funny that he had to keep adjusting his pants leg to cover his sock. I noticed that several times. It reminded me of when George W. Bush was on Leno recently and he told Jay that his mom told him before he came on the show to pull his socks up. Now I see why!

I wonder if Noah is married yet. They didn't talk about that last night. I just remember hearing on one of those E! shows that he would be marrying some make-up artist. I wish they had talked some more about ER stuff. He was such a cutie, though!

I agree Noah seemed younger than Carter! And it was funny how Leno was complimenting his suit, like he's a little kid all dressed up for Easter or something.

I was going to make a lewd joke about "Celebrity Hot Dogs" or putting muffins in ovens...but I think I won't.

Wow, I don't know whether I feel like Noah Wyle seems younger than "Carter", but I thought he seemed older than he usually does in interviews (Rosie, a previous Leno show) And this may sound weird, but it was almost like I could tell he was hanging around George Clooney again...he was kind of cockier than I've seen him, like GC is, not in a bad way, but a quirky way. NW has always seemed very friendly, but a little shy and boyish :), and even with his interviews w/ GC about Fail Safe, he seems shyer (sp?) compared to GC, and let him talk more. But he is still adorable.

Also, I can totally picture him working at fast food restaurants, and I love that he has a ranch with goats! I wish Leno had mentioned something about his new storyline on ER though too.

I heard, I think on Access Hollywood, that Noah Wyle was at George Clooney's house playing basketball when GC mentioned Fail Safe to him and he said he'd be interested. The way NW told it was that he found out for sure that he was in when he read it in the trades. So, sounds like Elaine is right and they do hang out together in real life.

Hello people, this is my first time posting and I guess I am because I just spent an hour on AOL waiting for Clooney and Noah to come on, which they eventually did not since they had to rehearse for Fail Safe... and how much I would like to see that. I live in Germany and have no access to what you people take for granted... I had no idea about Noah being on Jay Leno, and if I had, I still wouldn't have been able to see it... do I sound self-pitying? Sorry. :o) Anyway, I read all your nice messages, you all seem like a friendly bunch. And I thought, hey, Noah plays Peter Buck... that's my name! Cool! LOL Also I wish I had seen Leno because I'd really like to know what made all of you say Carter seems older than the real Noah. Hm... Well, those are my ramblings for tonight, best of luck to Noah and George on Sunday, and you guys have fun!

I am all over the forum tonight!

I stayed up for Leno specifically for Noah Wyle. I knew this was a plug for Fail Safe, so I was not expecting much conversation re: ER. I laughed myself silly when he talked about his goats. Yes, he's a kid at heart, he collects Noah's Ark toy characters for heavens sake! I hope he always stays that way. Its so refreshing.

About the age thing... I read somewhere in a cast bio page that Carter is in fact scripted to be approximately 1-2 years older than the actor who portrays him. Which makes sense, if you look at college timelines. You have four years of college (finish at 22) four years of med school (finish at 26) four years of residency (finish at 30). Carter started his ER residency a year late because he switched specialties, remember? He's in his fourth year of residency now,(third year as ER res,) so guess what? He turns 30 this year! Happy Birthday Carter! I sure hope the staff throws him an over-the-hill party!

PS. Noah Wyle is actually 28.

I LOVE Noah Wyle! The Leno show was the first time I've seen an interview with him. I enjoyed how real and nice he seems. It is refreshing that a star seems on such a level with the rest of us. I would love to get to know him in real life. I agree that he seemed younger than Dr. Carter.

I stayed up to watch Noah too, and I taped it and watched it a few more times. The first thing I thought? Hey, they didn't show any clips from Fail Safe! DUH! I wonder why?

He is SO cute! I really like his whole demeanor. That's one thing about ER is that I like all of the actors on it. But Noah, wow.
