Can Kodak Technical Pan film ( ISO 25 ) be processed in any other developers besides the recommended Kodak developers ? Can it be processed in Ilford Ilfotec HC ( 1+15) or ID-11 ? What will the development times be ?

I had terrible luck with HC. I have good puck with PMK. If you want GREAT TP, you need Technidol or possibly one of the Formulary's blends. Other combinations apparently work, but I can only speak from experience here; TP is too beautiful to give you the wrong info, and possibly disuade you. shawn

I shoot techpan 35mm at iso of 100, develope in Kodak SD-1 (1:1) pyro for 12 minutes, no rinse, fix in sodium thiosulfate (pure hypo) for 5 minutes (no stop or water rinse) wash for 20 minutes and dry. Beautiful neg's. Regards, Pat

TechPan goes great with Rodinal 1:150 or 1:200. I use Rodinal diluted 1:200 at 23 deg C for 8 minutes, agitating once every minute.

Microphen, diluted 1+5, EI 32, 14 min @ 75 deg. F.

The Formulary blend designed for Tech Pan is TD-3. It does a fabulous job of taming TP's contrast and making it appear like a normal continuous tone film. The sharpness is excellent and TD-3 gives the highlights a little bit of a glow--kind of like pyro does, I guess.
