What they think of us over on the sleazyboard...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

I know it is not important what the mouth-breathers think about anything, but here is a missive from Todberg, one the nastier pointyheads discussing the fine folks here:

"I would strongly hesitate to characterize any of the nutcases over there as "decent people." Don't forget that we're talking about people who ACTIVELY dissuaded others from preparing for what was potentially the most horrible disaster in history. These are people who have no morals, no conscience. People who are still alive by sheer luck, and by good fortune, are not responsible for the millions of deaths they nearly caused. They are the FURTHEST thing from "decent people."

Pro:

this part of the statment says it all-

"People who are still alive by sheer luck, and by good fortune, are not responsible for the millions of deaths they nearly caused."

This person has not the first clue what y2k was all about, they bought what EY and GN were selling. NOW they can't bring themselves to admit they were "took".

"Denial ain't just a river in egypt!"

LOL!

I saw that comment when I checked to see if anyone had ONE example of where Dennis had been threatened by anyone on those adoption threads. Did you see Todberg's response to THAT one? It had something to do with "If you can't SEE it, you must not be able to read." That's NOT a quote, BTW, but simply my perception of what I read. [I don't quite know what I'd do if my BACK arrow began to fail.]

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), April 10, 2000.

ALMOST makes me want to post a rebuttal over there.

It's interesting that a group which is anti-government, anti-gun control, anti-new world order, and anti-anything PC wants to belong to a board that is HEAVILY governed.

And an aside to Mr. Decker -- who slammed someone for posting a recipe on this board: A good recipe beats the heck out of a lot of the drivel on this board. When you get right down to it, good food and clean clothes are major components in an enjoyable life.

-- Pam (jpjgood@penn.com), April 10, 2000.

My Gawwwwd Pro, I'm horrified. What does this mean for a person like me that prepared for my family, but did nothing to encourage others to prepare. Does this mean I would be responsible for some deaths had something actually happened.

LOL at the convoluted thinking of a person that finally manages to reache this utterly insane conclusion. If this isn't mind games, I don't know what is.

Pro,

I couldn't care less what faceless people on a website think of me. It matter not in the slightest.

Just get over it.

I just can't see for the life of me what everyone runs over to EZBoard for. Isn't it like going to the "bad side" of town to check out a crack house. You know what you're going to find when you get there, why go?

There's no factual information, not a drop of news, not one point of ongoing polite conversation, so why go snoop around in somebody's trashy backyard?

Stay home and get over it!!!

-- Richard (Astral-Acres@webtv.net), April 10, 2000.

This is a bit like blaming all the traffic accidents that might have happened but didn't, on the people who draw road maps. Just more proof that the wonderful thing about being stupid is you don't have what it takes to realize it.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), April 10, 2000.

I'll chime in with Pam on this one.

"It's interesting that a group which is anti-government, anti-gun control, anti-new world order, and anti-anything PC wants to belong to a board that is HEAVILY governed."

Don't they realize that there are many on this board that were of the "doomer persuasion" till the little Hitler yourdon and the Nazi's showed their truer colors? In light of this evidence I myself think it wise to re-evaluate their actions prior to rollover.

Their are probably many there whom I would normally associate myself with, given my NON PC views and Constitutional philosophies. But My inability to become one of eds sheeple will keep me happily with a better class of company.

As far as giving creedance to anything little Tod says is for me prime time humor. The best he can do is shake his head in agreeance with what is told to him, personally I think he is either gunnin' for a sysop position or ed's boy toy out on the ranch.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), April 10, 2000.

This TodBerg wuss reminds me of another Yourdonite that used to shriek whenever a dissenting voice was heard. Can anyone dredge up the name of the poster Im thinking of? This person was fairly active on TB2000 right after the rollover and up to the closing of the forum just has to be the same one. His standard retort was if you dont like it here just leave.

-- Sifting (through@the.rubble), April 10, 2000.

Well, I agree with Dog on this one too.

But, I was NOT a polly, I was caught up in the doomer aspect...trying to help others....

Now, does this mean I'm in the wrong place? (smile***)

I warned others, felt like a fool, but i aint nutz....

As for the comment about decent people, overall I'm decent, TOO much so, until my buttons get pushed...

I'd be delighted to read a decent recipe on this or any other forum. Please be warned, my taste in cuisine leans away from canned tuna and dried bean casseroles. (chuckle)

Pro,

Let's enjoy the posts for what they are... comic relief.

-- Ken Decker (kcdecker@worldnet.att.net), April 10, 2000.

This is one of the FUNNIEST posts I have read in a long time. I love this quote:

"People who are still alive by sheer luck, and by good fortune, are not responsible for the millions of deaths they nearly caused. They are the FURTHEST thing from 'decent people'."

Now it was sheer luck that got us through the CDC? It had nothing to do with the remediation that was done?? A person condemns an entire group of people, calling them indecent? This is just too funny, especially since we have been reading posts from people like Shakey on other threads about how they have "civil" discussions over there, and how we over here do not have decorum.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 10, 2000.

So I go over there to sneak about just to see what the hullaballou is....right? Bunch of self righteous think they know it all wannabees! Yup, whats they are.

Matter of fact, I think they are jealous of us because we can fight and still like each other.

I did notice alot of so-called people who hang here are 2 faced. I guess you can all do what you want, but you should not be so two faced about it.

-- whocaresudont (snakes@sleaz.com), April 10, 2000.

whocares:

Feel free to point who you think on THIS forum is two-faced. *I* post in both places, and if you've seen an inconsistency in my personality between here and there, *I*'d sure like to know about it.

Sifting:

Two names come to mind [but I'm too lazy to search the archives.] There was a Brent, followed by a Hal. Both responded with the "then why are you ON this forum?". I would guess that Todberg COULD be Todd Detzel [just going by the name.] Todberg didn't respond to the newcomers' "name change" thread on EZBOARD, neither did he fill in his profile. [Of course I did neither of those things either.]

I just lifted 5 loaves of sourdough out of the oven--the aroma is wonderful. Only 255# of flour left. Is it time to restock?

-- Pam (jpjgood@penn.com), April 10, 2000.

People who are still alive by sheer luck, and by good fortune...

Seems to me that this applies to everyone every day.

-- Buddy (buddydc@go.com), April 10, 2000.

Thanks Anita, as usual you are right on the money. Brent it is and truth be known they could all be the same whiney little wimp (Brent, Hal, and Toad). I must give these guys some creditfew people on the Internet can stir me to thoughts of physical action. Ya just wanna whup em up side the head.

-- Sifting (through@the.rubble), April 10, 2000.

What THEY think of us here? What's this We vs. Them generalization crap. You've got to be the biggest lamer on this board Pro to think that the lunatic fringe represents everyone there.

Another example of Pro's whimsical efforts to demonize people he doesn't agree with. Are YOU Todberg Pro? Or in your shrill whining are you still unable to come to grips with the fact that they don't want you over there? I'm starting to believe that you and your ideological nemesis at the other board, @, another tunnel-visioned bore, were separated at birth. Both of you can't see the forest for the trees.

-- haha (haha@haha.com), April 10, 2000.

Sorry, TODD DETZEL is me. I don't know who Todberg is. I don't post on EZ because I wouldn't go through all the sign in crap.

Todd

-- Todd Detzel (detzel@jps.net), April 10, 2000.

Y2KPro:

Isn't this just precious?

Now, maybe, if we are lucky, someone equally pointyheaded on this forum will heave some anonymous nastiness in the general direction of EY's EZ Board. Then some tale-teller can tattle on us over there - provoking a retaliation in kind from them that you can bring back here. With a little luck you can get both groups in a fine huff, spewing out all kinds of sh*t at one another.

You are certainly doing us a great service carrying this sh*t back and forth while it's still fresh and steamy, so we can all dabble and paddle and get smeared to our heart's content.

How can we ever thank you enough?

-- Brian McLaughlin (brianm@ims.com), April 10, 2000.

Brian, Just a note of appreciation for the maturity your posts have shown. Maybe you could start a thread and give lessons?

-- (Thanks Brian@...:-)), April 10, 2000.

Brian,

My thoughts exactly, "what's the point" of "us" vs. "them"? I genuinely enjoy folks from both forums who post on such.

Good, Bad and indifferent on both! I'm able to sift thru the dirt and find the "gems", that's why I visit. For the "gems" of knowledge, illumination and tidbits of wisdom to be gleaned from both.

I guess for some reason, neither forum will "ever" stop referring to each as "us and them" and get on with enjoying what exists in each for what it's worth. Oh well!!

Ain't diddly I can do to change it either way!

So I'll stay out of the fray. For those that like stirring up the animosity, enjoy youself....I guess?

-- Michael (michaelteever@buffalo.com), April 10, 2000.

We have everything on this thread... We have "Pro" as one of the great unwashed and Brian here to save him. (laughter)

-- Ken Decker (kcdecker@worldnet.att.net), April 10, 2000.

One Todberg was in a real funk
At those who would calmly debunk
The "what-ifs" he's playing
Aren't unlike one's saying
"If Aunt had balls she'd be my Unc'"

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), April 10, 2000.

Ken,

In Paul Theroux's book, The Old Patagonian Express, he sits on a train in Costa Rica next to a retired gentleman who spends several hours staring out the train window saying, "...boy and a brown dog... two women washing clothes... red car...another dog, but black... "

This running commentary seems to be just about as edifying as Y2KPro visiting EZ Board and saying, "...mouthbreather... pointy head...two pointy heads and a nutcase..."

Sure, it's all ridiculous and worthy of laughter. Me, I figure the joke's getting a bit shiny and threadbare at this point. But then, some people can stay amused by throwing playing cards in a hat for a couple of hours and then do it all again the next day.

-- Brian McLaughlin (brianm@ims.com), April 10, 2000.

-- Ken Decker (kcdecker@worldnet.att.net), April 10, 2000.

That Todberg guy has major anal retentive attitude. I, too, thought I recognized his style from old board. Since I have been taking copy- paste lessons (from netghost of course =) ) I have acquired some prime examples of who I think Todberg was or is; that of which I would like to share. =) heehee (try not to puke)

----------------------------------------------------------

eve, I'm sure you meant well, but really, I don't think you have any idea what you're doing. Old Git gave a good rundown of what the Debunkers are all about and you yourself alerted the sysops to be ready for their disruptions. Now you're inviting them here? If you enjoy dealing with trolls, then go find them yourself. This forum is running just fine without them.

-- (hal@gostek.org), February 01, 2000.

I agree with Kyle, they should be deleted on sight. I don't know what's gotten into eve. Maybe she's pulling a "LadyLogic" or something. This post doesn't seem to serve any purpose except to draw the trolls here. Maybe it should be deleted.

-- (brett@miklos.org), February 01, 2000.

If you're messages were deleted, they were probably trollish in nature. Take the hint.

-- (hal@gostek.org), February 13, 2000.

If it bothers you so much, then go make your own forum.

-- (hal@gostek.org), February 13, 2000.

So, Cin, if you know everything we're going to say to you, maybe you should take the advice and hit the road.

-- (hal@gostek.org), January 24, 2000.

Looks to me like you and Peg are being deleted because you are both disruptive trolls. Perhaps if you stopped disrupting, you wouldn't be deleted.

-- (hal@gostek.org), January 24, 2000.

-- cin (cinloo@aol.corn), April 10, 2000.

oops ... I forgot my favorite ones.

Thanks sysop, your hard work is most appreciated!! Cin's disruptions have been getting a bit out of hand lately. Her only contributions have been to support spammers and polly trolls. She should hit the road and find some other people to harass.

-- (brett@miklos.org), January 23, 2000.

That's because they're the same person. Duh.

-- (brett@miklos.org), January 23, 2000.

Don't let her/him/it get to you Diane. Cin is only interested in provoking attack, like the rest of the trolls. We don't need her here, that's for sure. Nobody would miss her.

-- (brett@miklos.org), January 23, 2000.

grr I nearly forgot what a bastard that guy is.

-- cin (cinloo@aol.corn), April 10, 2000.

Remember when Hawk used to post as Porky @t cell block D? He sounded an awful lot like "Hal" and "Brent Miklos".

Hawk we know it's you, you're one twisted mutha fucka.

-- (picking @ feathers off the .carcass), April 11, 2000.

Whoa cin! We must have posted at the same time!!!!

Thanks for reminding me is name was brett, not Brent.

cin,

Didn't you know Brett/Hal was a Biffy troll? We thought everybody understood that. LOL!

what's a Biffy, anyway? =o\ <---puzzled

-- cin (cinloo@aol.corn), April 11, 2000.

Ha!

Ken said: "Brian, We all have our divertisements."

...Looking up that word in my trusty Thorndike & Barnhart Advanced Junior Dictionary (flip, flip, flip)...nope, not there!

Thus, Ken, I can proudly say, I Am Eruditer Than You!

-- Spindoc' (spindoc_99_2000@yahoo.com), April 11, 2000.

"Porky is a teenage boy in the PNW. Nice kid...funny, too. Kinda miss Porky."

Hawk has admitted that he was Porky. Oh, wait, maybe you're right! Maybe Hawk IS a teenage boy!!!!!! (Which would account for his mouth and immaturity.)

-- (Picking @ feathers off the .carcass), April 11, 2000.

cin, Biffy is shorthand for Gary North is a Big Fat Idiot (BIFFI). I'm sure someone will gladly supply the URL.

-- Spindoc' (spindoc_99_2000@yahoo.com), April 11, 2000.

Spindoc is a kewl..er name.

You rock.

-- (Let's do @ it. like they do on the Discovery Channel.), April 11, 2000.

The URL for BIFFY is: http://206.28.81.29/HyperNews/get/gn.html

Alas, it appears that it's too late to actually see the pungent mix of info, fistfights, and general uproar there as the site has been dead for a week and appears to have joined all the other Y2K web sites that have sailed off into the sunset.

Was Hawk really Porky@cellblock D? It thought he was hilarious. It it was you Hawk, good job.

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), April 11, 2000.

Biffy has been absorbed by this forum. There's no need for both of them. I can guarantee you that Hawk is not Porky, regardless of what Hawk may have said.

-- (Not telling@com.xxx), April 11, 2000.

Spin,

The comment was meant for Brian, who I am confident understood the word and its contextual overtones.

-- Ken Decker (kcdecker@worldnet.att.net), April 11, 2000.

Spindoc',
I have found that on this forum, a post's irony has to be unmistakable or it will bomb.

-- David L (bumpkin@dnet.net), April 11, 2000.

To David L: It will bomb anyway.

-- Peter Errington (petere@ricochet.net), April 11, 2000.

YEP. Porky and Hawk are DEFINITELY 2 VERY different people. Particularly as Porky uncloaked at one point and indicated he was REALLY a .gov programmer. Somewhat reliable checking sugested that this was indeed the case.

Ken,

It was rumored (and by your own account) that you might possibly have a sense of "nuanced" humor beyond (laughter) and (chuckle). My apologies for spreading rumors about you.

Let's do @ it,

My handle was actually my Naval call sign, back when I was active duty, and was an accurate description of the work I was doing at the time (no, not PsyOps, try again). As David L. noted, I am a fan of ironic humor, although it seems to be lost on some forum posters.

-- Spindoc' (spindoc_99_2000@yahoo.com), April 13, 2000.

BTW, Let's do @ it,

Love that handle. My son sings that song constantly, although (I think) he is unsure of the true meaning. He is only allowed to watch the Discovery Channel, Learning Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet, and (sometimes) PBS. Gotta have "The Talk" with that boy, real soon now...

-- Spindoc' (spindoc_99_2000@yahoo.com), April 13, 2000.

Wellll, By curious coincidence, my son and I had "The Talk" today (prompted in part by his Health Class at his school). His main question was, in effect, "how come humans make so many funny noises when mating, while animals are so quiet and quick, like on the Animal Planet channel?"

The History Channel! That's it, he must have gotten that from the History Channel! I'm going to put the parental block on that channel now...damned liberal programming execs!

-- A very red-in-the-face Spindoc' (spindoc_99_2000@yahoo.com), April 14, 2000.

Spindoc,

I darn near fell off my chair! Ain't kids somethin? Always keep you on your toes, and innocent and honest at the same time.

Did you come up with a good answer, or kind of stammer-like?

Will probably *keep* enjoying this for the next hour or so,

Frank

-- Someone (ChimingIn@twocents.cam), April 14, 2000.

Spindoc, I'm red-faced now also. After I listened closely to the words today, I realized that song is about sex. I was way out of line, and I apologize.

I know this is a little late, but it seems to me I saw you write "Ilb" on a post a couple of weeks ago. What does that mean?

-- (Let's do @it. like they do it on the Discovery Channel to be renamed "codnips"), April 14, 2000.
