More thoughts on Love's Labour Lost

Last night I watched the TNT rerun of one of my favorite episodes, the famous "Love's Labour Lost". A couple of things stood out that I hadn't noticed before. First, I never realized that in the previous epi, Jen told Mark she was leaving him. Yikes, what a horrible combination of events. During the final scene, when Mark was crying on the train, I thought, it doesn't get any worse than that!

Secondly, I noticed that in the scene where Mark is telling Sean O'Brien that they lost Jodi, the baby was crying. It seemed like that was new! I always remembered it being silent as Mark was telling Sean.

I also watched the rerun last night. The first time I saw it a while back it scared me to see a woman die in childbirth. Last night it terrified me. Last year I gave birth to a son by C-Section. I think that says it all! Of course my circumstances were not like the woman on the show.

not to be nitpicky or anything but I don't think it was the immediately preceeding episode in which Jen told him she was leaving. I think they were just showing that preview to see where he was emotionally on that given day. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Frankly I think the most disturbing thing about the episode is the idea that you could have your case botched so thoroughly by a hospital... not really blaming one doctor (Mark Greene) so much as the whole chain of events.

You know what? Even though I have it on tape, I have never watched this episode since it first aired. I can't. I don't need to....I remember every tortuous second. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a brilliant piece of television, but it was so powerful that it still remains with me.

Also, I don't have any children now, but hope to have a few in the future. I just can't watch it.

It was the immediately preceding episode that Jenn told Mark she was leaving him. She tells him in "Sleepless in Chicago" and "Love's Labor Lost" is the next episode.
