The Picture of Luka's wife & daughter

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

After watching "Match made in Heaven" several times, I see a strong resemblance between Carol & the picture of Luka's wife. Has anyone else noticed this? (I want to say that the picture looks like JM and they morphed it... looking at the eyes & eyebrows)

IMO, this would explain why he was gazing at her in "Viable Options", maybe he sees his wife in her. Just a thought.

That would be my guess as to what's going on. While some Luka fans refute it, there IS somewhat of a resemblance between Doug and Luka, also. It makes perfect sense for Luka trying to see his wife in Carol, his children in her children, and for Carol trying to see Doug in Luka. The first time she set eyes on Luka he was holding a child, to my recollection...perhaps reminding her of a certain friendly pediatrician we all know and love? Being a D/C fan I cringe at the Carol/Luka scenes, though they really seem to prove that neither one is ready to move on. Carol definately still wants Doug, and Luka misses his family much too much to get involved again just yet. JMHO.

I agree with you Arianne. I also think Luka sees the resemblance in Carol to his wife, and Carol sees Luka's resemblance to Doug. The way Luka looked/acted when showing Carol the picture of his daughter & wife seemed to me like he isn't ready to move on yet. Plus, losing them in such a tragic way would make it harder too. Just MHO though!

I like the idea of Luka merely being reminded of his family when he sees Carol A LOT more than the idea of him being attracted to her. It makes it more complex...more like a real reaction than some TV cliche. I would much rather imagine the expression on Luka's face trying to suggest "My poor wife, my kids, my life as it used to be, ooooh..." rather than just "OOO baby, Hathaway's a hottie!"
