Elizabeth and Mark: Still Together????

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Okay I have been wondering this ever since Mark and Elizabeth have started arguing: In "Be Patient" she referred to him as her boyfriend, but now they are arguing. Well, maybe not arguing, but not exactly as "together" as they were. I know we haven't seen a break up scene, but what is going on? Have they cooled off? Or is Mark too busy taking care of his father? What is going on with these two? Just when Mark finally finds something to make him happy....

My guess is that they're experiencing a rather normal "rough period" in their relationship given how busy Mark has been and their fundamental differences of opinion regarding David Green.

My hope is that we'll be shown a scene in which one of them wakes up and reveals their whole relationship was just a bad, chemistry-free dream, and that reality finds them seriously involved with someone else (Elizabeth with some gorgeous, distinguished, older surgeon maybe and Mark with a lawyer committed to the idea of staying in Chicago...oh wait, that would involve introducing new characters... never mind :)

i disagree with nancy. i like mark and elizebeth. it would be weird if the broke up, i mean come on everybody would have dated everybody in the er. im just saying it will be a little weird. every relationship has it rough spots.

That's a good one Nancy, even though I like M&E. I really don't know where they are headed- there seems to be such differing opinions out there. Maybe they will back off now, and then come back together slowly like people seem to think they should have done in the first place.

I am gonna disagree here. Mark and Elizabeth have as much chemistry as oil and water. I just don't see them together. To me, the writers are going out of their way to point out 'look - aren't they soooo cute together'. To me, that spells no chemistry. And if I have to see Mark without his top on once more, I will be sick.

Mark is pretty sick without his top on - Lizzie deserves better.

Mark is not *that* bad...of course I am much more partial to Carter and Doug (though Doug has probably had his shirt of maybe a total of 2 times in all of ER, kind of ironic isn't it?) A lot of people have been saying this and I don't really think he is that bad, he's kind of built.

Oh nancy, what did Mark ever do to deserve another lawyer :P ? I agree about the shirt issue, though MArk *is* built, he's just thin. And it isn't really Mark's fault anyway, its the director's decision- unwise decision :) Has Carter ever had his shirt off...I ask that not as it sounds but for continuity, lol. Let's hope Luka doesn't try to work on his tan on the roof anytime soon.

Carter had his shirt off when he was a patient just after the stabbing. That, of course, wasn't much of a turn on.

What!? I think Carter looked pretty good. I remember him taking his shirt off on his first day as a doctor--he was covering the ER, surgery, just about everywhere and he had to run up to OR, but he had blood everywhere so he took his shirt off and grabbed a scrub top while he was running to OR. I thought he looked good there, even though it was really only his back. JMHO!

Elaine, you HAVE been paying attention, now haven't you? :)

Diana, YUP! And I almost missed that one!

I'm all in favor of shirtless Mark! Of course I'm biased because he looks just like my husband...Still. As far as M&E, I don't know what to think. They don't seem very cutesy together to me, except for the nightclub scene with their parents when Carter & Lucy were attacked. Singing on the piano---sigh. But his father's death will probably bring them closer together.

I am sure that this week is going to be a very sad one, and I am really looking forward to seeing Elizabeth (hopefully) be there for Mark when it's over. She most likely won't be there when he dies, but maybe Mark will call her after, but either way, I want to see some affection between them...it's been awhile.
