mine are: radiohead- ok computer
okay, this one is quite obvious. I'm a big fan of this group and this one is one of the first albums I had gotten. of course, there others are equally good, but this one I can listen to all the way through and over and over again. the others, I skip around and stuff.

the cure- wish
this is one of the best cure albums. all my favorite songs besides just like heaven are on it. I can listen to this one for hours too..eyes shut and dancing!

live- secret samadhi
okay, this album isn't the greatest, but turn my head is on it and this is a memorable song that reminds me of my ex friend teri. I get teary eyed and listen to it over and over again on repeat for hours.

elliot smith- eithor/or
I had this album for awhile, but never listened to it till like a few months ago and found out it was excellent. I like to sing offkey to it. yeah!

tori amos- boys for pele
tori is just too cool. nuff said. okay, I'm done now.

okay, I forgot to mention portishead. aaah. I've been listening to it all this week so far. it just happens to be what's in my discman at the moment and I'm too lazy to stick another cd in but oh well. I still listened to it from start to finish only skipping two songs.

I think it's the live nyc one. I don't have it in front of me. good stuff nonetheless

this isn't by any means a permanent list. top five albums of the moment:

- how it feels to be something on (sunny day real estate)

as soon as i heard this album, i knew i'd been looking for it since i fell in love with music in general. and i still can't hear "pillars" without crying.

- mellon collie and the infinite sadness (smashing pumpkins)

go ahead, call me a poser. i think this is their best work. and it holds sentimental value for me because this was my first album (shut up) and it covers so much... it rocks really hard in some places, but it has really lush instrumentation in others. very well-rounded. and as far as i'm concerned, the band really should have stopped after this one.

- automatic for the people (r.e.m.)

this was all i listened to when i was thirteen. and it's fucking beautiful. from "everybody hurts," the single everybody loved, to "sweetness follows" and "nightswimming"... this album is pure nostolgia.

- 4-track demos (p.j. harvey)

this was my first pj album, but not my last! i borrowed it from a boy who said that he bought it, listened to it a couple times, decided it was crap, and put it away. a year later he pulled it out again and realized that pj harvey is a genius. and that's how this album hits you. pj - who sings of obsessive love of both men and women - helped me out in a really.. confusing point of my life.

- bossanova (the pixies)

the pixies are fucking great. if you don't listen to them, you should. they were alternative before alternative became mainstream. THEY should have been the band that everyone was imitating.. not nirvana. not that nirvana isn't good in their own right...

actually... i'd like to replace bossanova (pixies) with my body, the hand grenade (hole). that album was my best friend.

The best I can do is say that these are my favuorite today. I have so many that I love that I may not want to listen to now.

1. Dido, No Angel. She's so fabulous. And it makes me think of Brett and I miss him so that's good.

2. Tori Amos, from the choirgirl hotel. It makes me feel older.

3. Heather Nova, Oyster. I listened to it none stop when I was packing to leave home for good and go somewhere I'd never been to start the life I knew I wanted.

4. Cibo Matto, Stereotype A. I couldn't tell you why, mayhaps it strokes my ego.

5. Holly McNarland, Stuff. It reminds me that I do have friends when I think I don't.

That's as of today, it'll most likely be different tomorrow. :)

Gusgus, Polydistortion needs to be in there somewhere too. And that's not mentioning all the Tori albums I would have liked to put. I've been on a kick lately. Heh. :)

ah...gusgus. I have the ladyshave single. never got the whole album.

and yes, siamese dream - smashing pumpkins is another one I forgot to mention...ack!

and not to mention, most of the radiohead and cure albums out there. I just listed the top ones. heh.
