Im still confused when the question asks which period..my id # for the problem is 955683721 and the first answer is Mn.

I went to check your problem out...I think you probably gave the wrong problem ID #....Anyway, if that is the right problem #, the element should be C not Mn and when they ask for period, they want the # listed along the left side of the periodic table (according to the table on p.539 in your text). For example:If the element is C, then the period would be 2 If the element is Mn, the period would be 4
