Miles' mother?

I know it's early in the novel, but I'm curious about something. I've read about Miles' father, having multiple sclerosis, two strokes, and being in a nursing home, but has there been anything said yet about his mother that I may have missed?

She died. Possibly of boredom, possibly because she couldn't get Miles out of the house any other way. A third thought was that Mrs. McGee offed her so that she and Miles could persue their winter/summer relationship, but because even turkey-faced Imogene can't bring herself to call him by his first name, the police don't think McGee would have him, either. Besides, there was a rumor around town that McGee was carrying on with the superintendant, which caused his heart problems, and Miles just wouldn't have the nerve to risk it.

On page 62 it gives a short history on Mile's mother when he is visiting the grave. It states that she died from a brain tumor. Her name was Amy.
