Mixy Tapes

We're still doing this mix tape/CD thing, right? I desperately need driving music for my trip! I already came up with the theme and half the playlist for mine, and hopefully you won't think it's too cheesy, but I'm keeping it a secret for the time being.

Absolutely we're doing this. I was going to make CD's but that won't work for driving in the car. So maybe I'll make the CD and then copy it to tape, but I think it won't fill the whole tape then.

Well, somehow I'll work it out.

I've already got a mix that I like, so I'm going to make that for you guys too. If all goes well with the CD writer I should have them done this weekend.

Just let me know if you want a tape or a CD, cause I can do it either way!

Cool, tapes or CD's work for me. I'm not hip with the times in my car because I don't have a CD in there, just a tape player.

And if you give me a tape and I want it on CD I'm sure I can work that out somehow with all that stereo and computer equipment we have. Dave must know how to do that, he knows everything :)

I'm hoping that my CD writer doesn't give me a hard time like Dave's did last time I tried to do it.

Jenn -- what program do you use to make audio CD's on the computer???

I already started! I've got about a 1/4 of a tape done already. :) In fact, I've got so much stuff that I want to share with you guys, that I think I'm going to make two! There's a little theme to the first one which actually kind of dictated the theme of the second one -- you'll see when you get them!

I'm so psyched for this project! I love making mixes because music is really important to me and I always want to share the stuff that I love with the people I love! And I know you guys will appreciate it! For a long time, the only person I could give mixes to was my sister -- Seth and I have nothing in common, musically. I kind of like his Erasure and Pet Shop Boys stuff but the techno stuff he listens to gives me a headache and it's boring after a while. Meanwhile, he thinks that everything I listen to is "hillbilly crap" -- which is funny because while i listen to a little country, most of it is folk and rock.

So I started the first tape and I'm noticing a theme -- I think it's going to be a tad bitter. Most of the songs that I really love are -- either bitter or angry or whatever. I've always felt that mixes are windows into how you are feeling at the time you make them -- not surprisingly I've already got two songs that remind me of Ken on there and a couple that have stuff to do with Seth and I've got a bunch more that have always been "lee" songs for me. But I've also got songs that remind me of you guys! So it's all good. :)

I was thinking about making the tapes and then giving them to Mel or Jennifer and having them transfer them to CDs for everyone. But, E., if you need tapes for driving, let me know.

I'd prefer CD's myself, so Coll go ahead and make mine a CD!

Hey, CDs work for me too!! I have a tape adapter for my CD Walkman, so I'm all about CDs in the car. I personally will just have to make tapes, because I'm not hip to the CD burner thing.
