Grant: I don't know much about Kubota except that they have a pretty good reputation. I have heard however that Yanmar (sp?) is mechanically identical to John Deere. I guess John Deere is a green version of the Yanmar. It might be worthwhile to check them out and actually compare with JD.

Grant, I purchased a Kubota B7100HSD new in 1996 and have had very good luck with it. It came with a front end loader which has been a good investment. I have used it to excavate for sidewalks(I know, bad word!), slabs, dig post holes, plow, put in two yards, backfill around a basement, and to mow grass. I have one regret-no power steering. Makes a big difference with the loader. I looked at Yanmar, JD, Kioti, and Cub Cadet. John Deere is overpriced. All good tractors but my biased vote is for Kubota.

Uh-Oh! Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge? We bought a new Kubota 6200 in 1984. I don't use it a LOT, but it does have nearly 700 hours on it. I have used it to log, to till, to bush-hog, to plow snow, and give kids rides. The reputation is outstanding, but one of my main factors was the dealer. Kubota guy was known as good. John Deer guy was aloof. And Ford made me feel as if I was annoying them when I inquired about buying one. Guess I'd talk to others in your area and get their read-out on the dealer. GL!

We have owned Kubota equipment since 1988 and have had no major problems with them. The first tractor we owned was a G6200 and it is still running strong today. You can't go wrong with a Kubota.

My parents bought one years ago & it's STILL going today, with NO problems. Can't remember how old it is but I was just a kid still living at home, I'm 31 now, so we're sold on them.
