Was watching some PBS programming Sunday and caught the clip about LightHawk. Check out their web-site.

Since 1979, Bay area-based Lighthawk has been acting as an airborne defender of the environment. Lighthawk flies politicians and members of the media over ecologically endangered areas, exposing them to deforested areas and unchecked housing development. Once given Lighthawk's unique aerial perspective, politicians and activists can come to appreciate the full scope of ecological damage and how to stop it.

List of other Green Means environmental clips. Quite interesting.

GREEN MEANS

Green Means, KQED-TV's popular series of upbeat, short stories about ordinary people whose lifestyles and activities are making positive contributions to the environment. Produced by Ken Ellis and hosted by NPR's Susan Stamberg, the award-winning series is underwritten for a fourth year by the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund, a prominent philanthropic organization that annually awards the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize. If you have story ideas for future Green Means or feedback on past programs, you can email your suggestions to greenmeans@kqed.org.
