Title: 5 Hurt in Saidpur Grid Station Fire

PAKISTAN LAHORE (April 26) : Five Wapda officials including a resident engineer, a shift engineer, a SSO incharge, a foreman and a helper working at the Saidpur Grid Station sustained burn injuries when a transformer burst due to a technical fault in a current transformer, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.

Wapda, member (power) general manager, chief engineer and superintending engineer concerned of NTDC-GSO immediately reached the grid station on receiving the information and supervised the work of restoration of power supply which has undergone temporary suspension to the distribution area. The supply was gradually restored on all the 13 affected feeder in the shortest possible time. The incident occurred at around 3:25 pm and it took only two hours in complete normalisation of the supply on all the feeder lines, to the consumers.

Meanwhile, Wapda has installed the third power transformer at the Saidpur Grid Station to facilitate the consumers-
