Major power breakdown in Sukkur

SUKKUR: More than half of the area of Sukkur faced power outage following a major fault developed in SITE grid station this evening. Wapda sources said its 11,000-KV transmission line and some cable of the grid station developed fault at about 6:00 pm, suspending the power supply to Old Sukkur, SITE area and some part of New Sukkur. Wapda engineers were busy repairing the damaged line and the cable. They said that about five hours would be required to restore the power. A large number of citizens and specially patients faced great difficulty due to this power failure.
