Beetles

HELP!! We have tiny brown beetles invading our home. They seem to be attracted to water and light. They smash very easily, but normal pesticides do nothing. We live in north Florida on 5 acres, out in the middle of no-wheresville.

Sorry you are going to have to live with then. They are the Asian lady beetle, no known preator (sp) in the usa. They will leave. they are not breeding in your house just living there, they live on the sunny side of clifts in the far east. I am suppriesed they are just now hitting you we (Here in southern INdiana) have been putting up with them for two months. Grant

What size are your beetles. I came home last week and I had about 10,000 beetles around my doors and windows. Carried em to our local extension agent, and he couldn't identify them. Mine are about half the size of a grain of rice, and brownish black. I thought they might be Southern pine beetles, but the agent disagreed with that.

That sounds about the right size & color. My husband is going to take some to our county extension agent later in the week. He also thought they were some kind of pine beetle. They sure are a big pain!
