What makes "Staggerford" a great book? Is it that we can relate to it on a personal basis, since most of us are from a small town, or the realism of the day to day events of a mundane life?

I think that this is a great book because it had many real life examples of how people live and how people die. I'm not really from a small town unless you consider Grand Island one, but I could understand what it was like living in a small town because I know people who do and it sounded a lot like this book. I thought this book was kind of boring in the beginning but the more I read the more interested I became. After Miles died, life went on. Just like in real life. Life Goes On!

I believe this is a great book because it makes you stop and think, life is a gift, and it can be taken away at any time. It also makes you ask yourself if you are making a difference, if you died suddenly, would there be someone who could say, he/she made a difference in my life and I will miss them profusely. It also makes you appreciate a normal comfortable life with people who care about you. It seemed like alot of the characters had pretty screwed up lives, this makes me thankful for all the blessings

I think this is a great book because of both of the reason's you stated. A lot of people can relate to this book, especially me, because nebraska is full of small town's like these. Everything a person does is known to everybody else and they always seem to have an opinion on it. I believe that this book also teaches us some good perspectives on life. For example, how not to live you life and to try and live it to the fullest because it can be taken away quickly.

I like "Staggerford" because throughout the week with Miles, he teaches us that life is to short to not go after what you want. Miles doesn't exactly want anything more than what he already has but most of us do. He teaches us that you never know what can happen in life.
