Hi,

What is an overlap integral? It is stated without definition on pg III-18 in the course notes on the web.

Thanks.

i can't believe you don't know this!!!! i learned this in basic chemistry using my home chemistry set that my parents got me in the homeland of russia. an overlapping integral is an integral that overlaps. what i mean by this is that after you integrate the integral you get the derivative sujm of the overlapping taylor series that can be simplified to using geometric series, pythagorean thm, or a simple quantification. This will get you the desired answer for you problem of overlapping integrals. surprised you didn't know that.
