Paula,
I'm having difficulty downloading the
Media Player update. Is there a text
version of program?

Paula, The Microsoft website has a javascript error when you try to download the version for Netscape (i.e., non-Internet Explorer) and for WIndows 95. Do you know of another media player that the videoclips will work with?

Dee: Thanks for your note and thanks too for all your interesting and informative posts!

Spider and slza: Re problems with media player: I have asked Stuart Rodman to post here any alternatives that he can suggest.

Spider: Thanks for your posts to GICC. The only texts that are available so far are noted in the URLs by Olivia Bosch's and Stuart Rodman's names (see the list of participants above).

Re: Microsoft Media player

For those having trouble with the viewer download from Microsoft:

Try this page for the correct version of the player for Windows 95: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/Win32Otherx86 .asp

for Netscape browsers try Media Player 7 at this URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/en/Download/default.asp For proper installation with Netscape, however, please note the following excerpt:

"If you are using Netscape Navigator version 3.0 or later, you must install the plug-in to use Windows Media Player. NOTE Install the plug-in AFTER you install the Player."

Please let me know of any continuing problems.

The URL for the Windows 95 Media Player (in my last posting) was too long for the page and was incorrectly formatted.

Try this one (I reparsed it to fit better)

For those having trouble with the viewer download from Microsoft Try this page for the correct version of the player for Windows 95:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/ Win32Otherx86.asp

Stuart,

I fixed your link. It had a bad parameter.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/Win32Otherx86 .asp

I've already been there and got nothing but trouble.
I was able to download ver. 6.4 but it still won't read
the .asf files on Paula's site. I seethe at Microsoft
and all their products.
