Great Article Explaining Why Y2k Fixes Didn't Work (recommended reading for those new to the debate...)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

The web is still filled with metric tons of drivel left over from the non-event. One choice article can be found at http://watertanks.com/articles/recession.html, where you will also find a half-off sale. The article quotes one of my personal favourite doomers, Sysman.

By the way, WaterTanks.Com is a division of Gas Masks, Inc. - at which there is a 1/4-off sale on all merchandise, excluding Nuclear/Biologocal/Chemical (NBC) shelters.

After conversing with some of the "survivors," you may decide (as I did) that it's probably better to die with the masses than live on with these dolts.

Vindicated Regards,

If all this is so important to you, why not write a book on it? You would have to publish it yourself and no one would buy it but that is the price of being such a vindicated guy.

Andy Ray:

Some former Devout Doomers do not seem to view your recent missives with as much mirth and hilarity as the rest of us. During the "debate" we were told in no uncertain terms that we would be dead or that we would be spreading lime over our dead children by this point. They were adamant in their righteous cause and steadfast in their beliefs. Now they are simply resentful stooges shown to be completely and absolutely wrong.

These stooges of death resent you repeating their words to them and they resent that the polly trolls were completely vindicated. These dullards learned nothing about why they were sucked into the vortex of fear, believing that another TEOTWAWKI event is "just around the corner".

It is futile to spar with these simpletons, folks that (for the most part) dont have the courage to use the same handle as they did before rollover. It is futile but its fun to watch

Best regards,

Yes. Quite true. Paul Milne got off an especially memorable line on csy2k about "drinking dog piss from a rusty hubcap". So, anyone who tangled with Paul can rest assured they got told this or something similar.

But even here in the heart of darkness, in sysop-censored, lock-step, Yourdon-dominated TB2000, such extreme lines about spreading lime on one's children were more the exception than the rule. For each dark rider of the apolcalypse, there were three or four people who expected nothing much worse than a sharp economic downturn with some concern about the social unrest that such a turn might stir up.

Poke around the debris of TB2000 and you can no doubt scare up hundreds of hair-raising, dead-certain idiocies launched on the side of doom. But these will trace back to no more than about 10-12 familiar handles. From time to time, when the futurology got too thick, someone would correct what "would" happen to what "might" happen. But doing so consistantly would have been a full-time job, and a pretty dull one at that.
