("Such Sweet Sorrow") Director?

did anyone else notice how the first few scenes were shot from above and moved down into the person's surroundings? I noticed it right away and wondered how directed the epi. GREAT STUFF!

I loved it! I was wondering who directed. I LOVED the overhead shots with Carter and c/o. I thought that it was going to be Carol on the frist scene, not Carter. Great job!

Now that Lily mentioned it, can anyone tell what was on the trunk/dressor at the foot of Carter's bed? I wonder if it was a hint at anything. For me personally, that scene freaked me out too much...maybe it was just the music, or that I didn't like his pajamas (I'm sorry, that is a personal preference, I like guys in t-shirts and boxers or pants, like Carter was in in the two scenes previously of him sleeping in Gamma's kitchen...he looked cute then). Anyways, it was *such* a depressing scene. I guess that was the point. The whole beginning was done very artistically, as ER does every once and awhile. It showed the contrast we would see between Carol and Carter...they are both suffering (at different levels!) but Carol will find her answer and Carter will still be struggling at the end of next week. Poor poor Carter.

I know! I think it was the music and the overhead camera work and the fact that Carter really looked bad in the beginning laying in bed. I feel so bad for him. And when he went and cried in the bathroom, that was just creepy. I got goosebumps and I wanted to go in there and hug him until he felt better. :(

Elaine, I tried to see what was on the bench at the foot of Carter's bed, but didn't get much. I think his photo identification from the hospital was one of the items though. If I figure out any more, I'll let you know. At this point, I'm guessing it was where he'd thrown his clothes if his photo id was there.
